Spike appeared on the childrens TV show in 1979 reading a story called "Help! I Am A Prisoner In A Toothpaste Factory", written by John Antrobus. This is available in book format, or as an audio cassette - This from a review on Amazon... Allegedly written for children, but offering a zippy, lively, completely mad in a sensible way view of the world. Combines characters who install escalators in their houses and leave messages in toothpaste with divorce, world domination and ironing. A thumping, funny read, which I loved and bought for my child as soon as I found out I was pregnant (any excuse). Beats the pants off boring, twee, kids books. Deserves to be in every home.
